Final Project
My inspiration for this project was the montages of other artists like David Hockney. In this project, I wanted to show a little part of my life, where I live. I thought it was cool to make up my neighborhood out of individual photos an then piecing them together. I also wanted to do a landscape for this project because you can capture so much detail in one landscape and that detail can tell so many stories. So I wanted to show the story of my neighborhood.
Portrait Project
For the Portrait Project, my inspiration was photos of cropped/ close-ups of people to tell a message or a story about the person. In this project we practiced taking photos of people inside (our studio) and outside. We practiced using white balance on the cameras while taking photos to balance out the skin tone with the lighting inside/ outside. If we were shooting inside we used the fluorescent setting on the white balance so the skin tone of the model wouldn't come out an orange color but instead come out in the model's natural skin color. If we were shooting outside we used the shade setting or the direct sunlight setting depending on where we were standing outside. We used the shade setting if we were standing in the shade so the model's skin tone wouldn't come out a blue color. We used the direct sunlight setting if we were standing out in the sun so the model's skin tone wouldn't come out an orange or yellow color.
Montage Mini Project
For the Montage Mini Project/ David Hockney Project, my inspiration was landscapes that were pieced together to make one scene or subject. Each of these photos has their own unique way of showing one image with multiple photos. Each of these photos also show not only the main subject but also show more of the landscape that fades out of the main subject. In the inspiration photos, each of the artists turned the photos differently to make the photo more interesting to look at.
Stopped Motion Blurred Motion Panning Photography Extended Exposure
Motion Project
For the Motion Project, we had four options stopped motion, blurred motion, panning photography, and extended exposure. In this project, we practiced taking all the types of photography (except the extended exposure) to find what we wanted to do for our project. I decided to do blurred motion for this project because I wanted to capture the motion of water. I captured the motion of water by using a shutter speed of 1/30 so the water would look blurred. This helped to convey my message because with the water blurred pouring over the strawberries it showed to purity of nature and how we (humanity) should protect nature with care.
Inspiration for Sequential Motion Photos
For the Sequential Motion Project, my inspiration was from looking at sequential motion photos that had emotion tied into them. The artist that the photo changed the background or made the picture black and white, for example, to change the meaning and emotion of that particular photo. Each of these photos are sequential motion photos that tell stories. The first one, I think is telling a story of the concentration and focus it takes to win something. The second and third ones are more happy photos that show subjects having fun and being playful and how they show those emotions. I liked seeing that because it made me think more deeply about the photo so, I tried to incorporate that technique into my photos.
Inspiration for Narrative Photos
For the Narrative Project, my inspiration was from a number of different photographers. I wanted my photos to not only tell a story but also convey a message to make the image more powerful.
Inspiration for Illusion Photos
For the Illusion Project, on the inspiration page I decided to put illusions of people being bigger or smaller than different objects or other people. For my final pieces I made the people smaller than the objects to convey a message.
Inspiration for Spooky Photos
For the Spooky Project I decided, for my inspiration page, put pictures of a spooky house, a night sky, and a dark road. In the Spooky Project I took photos of a spooky road and the night sky to make my final photos.
Inspiration for Focal Point/ Color Adjustments Photos
I chose these photos for my inspiration becasue I love Colfax and the different buildings on Colfax. So I made my inspiration photos be pictures of Colfax.
Inspiration for Texture/ Point of View Photos
I chose these photos as my inspiration for this project because these photos are of texture and of different points of view. These photos are mostly close up and for this project I mostly took close up pictures.
Inspiration for Composition Photos
I chose these photos as my inspiration because I wanted to take photos of mostly the outside to get my rules of composition for each photo. I wanted to take a picture of my dog and I also wanted to take a picture of plants.
